How Our Data Wiping Process Works: 4 Simple Steps From Quote to Certificate

Send us your details, get a fixed quote within 24 hours, we collect or attend and wipe, and you receive a data erasure certificate. Here is exactly what happens at each step.

How Our Data Wiping Process Works

Secure data wiping should be simple for you and rigorous behind the scenes. You tell us what needs wiping, we quote, we collect or attend, and you receive proof. No technical knowledge is needed. This page explains each of the four steps, what we do with each type of device and what you receive at the end.

  1. Send details
  2. Get a free quote
  3. We collect and wipe
  4. Get your certificate

Step 1: Send Us Your Details

Use our quote form, call +44-333-772-9109, message us on WhatsApp or email info@securedatawiping.com. It takes about two minutes. The more you can tell us, the more accurate the quote:

  • What equipment you have: laptops, desktops, servers, loose drives, phones or tablets
  • Roughly how many of each
  • Where it is located, and whether it is on one site or several
  • Whether it can leave your premises or needs to be wiped on site
  • Any deadlines, such as an office move or lease return
  • A list or photo, if you can

Not sure what you have? Send what you can and we will help.

Step 2: Get a Free, Fixed Quote

We review your equipment and send a clear, fixed quote within 24 hours, with no hidden costs. Pricing depends on the volume and type of equipment, and on whether the work is done on site or at our facility. Collection across the UK is free. If your project is large, we plan scheduling with you at this stage. See our bulk data wiping service for large projects.

Step 3: We Collect and Wipe

Once you accept the quote we agree a date. Then either:

  • We collect. Free secure collection from your premises, recorded and tracked through to completion. See collection and logistics.
  • We attend your site. Our on-site data wiping service wipes equipment where it sits, with your staff able to witness it.

How each device is wiped

DeviceMethodService
Hard drives (HDD)Verified overwrite of every addressable areahard drive wiping
SSDs, NVMe, M.2Firmware sanitize or cryptographic eraseSSD wiping
Laptops and PCsWhole-disk erasure per devicelaptop and PC wiping
Servers and RAIDPer-drive erasure behind the controllerserver and RAID wiping
Phones and tabletsSecure erase after account and lock checksmobile and tablet wiping

Every result is checked and recorded by serial number. Our process follows recognised guidance such as NIST 800-88.

Step 4: Get Your Certificate

When the work is verified you receive a data erasure certificate and a detailed report, with a record per device. This is the evidence for your asset register, your auditors and your regulator, and it supports GDPR accountability. Read more in our GDPR guide.

What If a Drive Cannot Be Wiped?

Faulty, damaged or unsupported drives cannot be wiped reliably. These go through certified data destruction, and you receive proof of destruction, so every device ends with a documented status. See what data wiping is and our wiping vs destruction guide for when each is right.

What Happens After Wiping

Once data is verified as erased, reusable equipment can be returned to you, refurbished or remarketed where appropriate. Anything at end of life is recycled responsibly in line with WEEE and environmental rules.

What You Need to Do

  • Back up anything you still need, because erasure is permanent
  • Sign out of accounts and remove devices from management where possible
  • Keep equipment together and tell us about access arrangements
  • Nominate a contact for the day of collection or attendance
  • Keep your certificate with your records

Full preparation advice is on our collection and logistics page.
